Reinswald Ski Area extends across an altitude differential of more than 1,000 metres, in the largely rural Sarentino (Sarntal) Valley. The ski area, much loved for its Reinswalder Wiesn sled run, is just a short half-hour drive from the city of Bolzano.

Reinwald is not only perfectly suited to skiers, snowboarders and sledders but also to anyone interested in a winter hike, cross-country skiing, or ski touring. The pistes range from nursery slopes all the way to extremely demanding runs like the Jochpiste, which is used for the Europa Cup downhill event and has a gradient of 58%. The ski area also has one of the longest sled runs in South Tyrol: its ever-popular Reinswalder Wiesn is 5.2 kilometres in length and runs from Pichlberg Alm to the valley station of the cable car. Romantic sleigh rides in the moonlight are also a good option: they run along the family-friendly natural snow trail. Those looking for a more whirlwind ride, on the other hand, should give the short-yet-steep, 700-metre-long Sunnalm sledding run a try.
