Mondotreno – Alto Adige in Miniature
Mondotreno is the largest digital installation of miniature railways in Italy. Mondotreno is located in Rablà near Merano (BZ) and represents, with its more than 20,000 pieces, one of the largest private collections of miniature trains. The Mondotreno is fascinating for its surprising models, 1:87 (H0) scale reproductions complete with numerous details and interactive elements that arouse great amazement among visitors. Come and discover South Tyrol in miniature and our incredible fantasy world “Half Mountain” with its impressive variety of landscapes.
Main Attraction – The Alto Adige in Miniature
South Tyrol in miniature from Terme di Brennero to Malles Venosta: this is what you will discover on a tour of the first floor of the exhibition. On an area of over 300 square metres, visitors can enjoy a complete and fascinating overview of the South Tyrolean landscape: there are numerous castles and fortresses, but also realistic details such as a car accident or the nostalgic Renon railway train. And the Mondotreno is also a nightmare: at regular intervals many small lights are lit up and magical special effects create a truly unique atmosphere.
A Fantastic World – Half a Mountain
On the ground floor, the visitor enters into the spirit of the landscapes and the miniature railways, plunging into a world of pure fantasy: Half Mountain. On an exhibition area of 40 square meters wind the routes of many miniature trains in motion, a small space full of attention to detail and with an incredible variety of landscapes that capture the eye, leading you to linger in this fantasy world.
Try You Too – The Children’s Corner
We have reserved a special experience for young visitors, to understand and learn through play. Children can touch and do it themselves, and even drive a train. Of course, adults can also try it out, so the Mondotreno becomes an adventure for the whole family.
