How to reach Folklore Museum

It shows the environment of the everyday life of rural population of the past – from the landed gentry and the self-sustaining peasantry to the day labourers. The centrepiece is the baroque Mair am Hof residence with its stately rooms and ethnological collections. The appendant farm building houses numerous agricultural implements and vehicles.
The open-air site containing old, original farmhouses, craft workshops, farm gardens and domestic animals invites visitors to stay and recounts the everyday life of earlier times.

The ADAC Leisure Atlas describes the South Tyrolean Museum of Folklore as one of the most beautiful open-air museums in Europe. In addition to the baroque Mair am Hof residence and the associated farm building, the museum has a three-hectare open-air site with numerous sights. The well-kept farm gardens and fields, the old and authentically furnished farms, the well-equipped workshops and the numerous domestic animals are attractions for young and old.
