Mineralogica Museum Kirchler | San Giovanni Valle Aurina

How to reach the Mineralogica Museum Kirchler

The most important museum in the Eastern Alps was created out of a passion for searching for and collecting minerals that has lasted for decades.

From the area of the Zillertal Alps and the Hohe Tauern, 1000 individual exhibits, which were created about 30 million years ago in the depths of our earth, are displayed on 300 m² of exhibition space. Many of these wonderful, partly unique treasures would not have been preserved without the often dangerous efforts of the collectors, but would have been destroyed by nature, such as frost and erosion.

A special attraction, apart from the largest smoky quartz crystals in South Tyrol and a replica of alpine clefts, is the most beautiful rock crystal wind in the world from the Prettau mine. The multimedia room shows the origin of minerals, the search and finding and their healing effect.

Let yourself be enchanted by the intense radiance of the manifold crystals of our mountains!
