Because of guaranteed snow and perfectly groomed slopes the Speikboden ski area attracts every winter snow -seekers from everywhere. On the 38 km (24 miles) of ski slopes, there is something for everybody. Seven modern lifts provide for a quick ascent before you can head down the valley at your own speed – leisurely or lightning fast. On the Easy Line and the Medium Line of the 700m long Fun Park, snowboarders and freestylers will also find everything that their adrenaline-charged hearts desire. The specialized ski school with 40 teachers care for ski and snowboard beginners and advanced athletes.

It’s not for nothing that San Vigilio is known far and wide for its family-friendly winter activities. The rustic chairlift will bring you leisurely into the lovely little ski resort with its four ski lifts and slopes stretching over 5 km. Once regarded as the crème-de-la-crème of Alpine ski resorts, San Vigilio was the site of numerous prestigious ski races as well as some very famous fun races. Today the resort is much quieter but all the cosier for that. Far removed from the hustle and bustle of larger ski resorts, San Vigilio guarantees a relaxed skiing experience, close to nature and right in the middle of the Ortler Ski Arena. The other slopes, those leading to the Jocher and Seehof guesthouses, and the race course, are also perfect for leisure skiers and children. Every winter the Ski Club and Ski School organise fun-packed group courses for young skiers.

Have you ever dared to try Saslong, one of the most difficult ski runs in Val Gardena? No? Then now’s the time! But the resort of Val Gardena is not just about difficult slops. The 175 kilometres of pistes offer something to suit every ability, combined with state-of-the-art cable cars and lifts and many opportunities to start the world-famous Sellaronda ski circuit.

If you’re on holiday with smaller kids, the neighbouring Alpe di Siusi ski resort is perfect for slowly getting to grips with the popular winter sport of skiing.

Snowboarders and freestylers are not forgotten either. Twenty metre-high tables, a snow tunnel and challenging obstacles await these acrobats in the Val Gardena fun park.

This glacier ski area, situated in the pristine Val Senales, offers 30 kilometres of runs ranging up to an altitude of 3,200 metres. Winter sports enthusiasts will find a varied ski area here set against a truly unique landscape.

Top ski athletes from all around the world come to the Val Senales glacier, which is near the site where Ötzi the Iceman was found, for ski training. The valley descent along the glacier is 8 km long in winter, and it takes only 6 minutes for skiers to return to the glacier on the cable car. In addition to 30 kilometres of runs, Val Senales Ski Area offers a 3 km toboggan run, glacier cross-country trails with guaranteed snow coverage, and more than 300 km of signposted trails for winter hikers of all experience levels. Majestic summit goals, including Palla Bianco (Weißkugel) Peak towering at 3,738 metres above sea level, make for a true nature paradise for snowshoe hikers and ski tourers. There are few ski touring areas in the Alps where you can reach so many three thousanders without long climbs as in Val Senales. The valley is also an entry point to the Ötztaler Runde circuit, one of the most popular Hautes Routes in the eastern Alps.
