Ski area Reinswald | Val Sarentino

How to reach the ski area Reinswald

Season: 05th December 2020 – 05th April 2021
Click here for the slopes map

Reinswald Ski Area extends across an altitude differential of more than 1,000 metres, in the largely rural Sarentino (Sarntal) Valley. The ski area, much loved for its Reinswalder Wiesn sled run, is just a short half-hour drive from the city of Bolzano.

Reinwald is not only perfectly suited to skiers, snowboarders and sledders but also to anyone interested in a winter hike, cross-country skiing, or ski touring. The pistes range from nursery slopes all the way to extremely demanding runs like the Jochpiste, which is used for the Europa Cup downhill event and has a gradient of 58%. The ski area also has one of the longest sled runs in South Tyrol: its ever-popular Reinswalder Wiesn is 5.2 kilometres in length and runs from Pichlberg Alm to the valley station of the cable car. Romantic sleigh rides in the moonlight are also a good option: they run along the family-friendly natural snow trail. Those looking for a more whirlwind ride, on the other hand, should give the short-yet-steep, 700-metre-long Sunnalm sledding run a try.

Trafoi Ski Area | Venosta Valley

How to reach the Ski Area Trafoi

Season:
Click here for the slopes map

Trafoi is an idyllic spot in the middle of Stelvio (Stilfersjoch) National Park. The lift that whisks you up to the broad runs of this snow-capped mountain region runs directly from the village centre, so Trafoi is much loved by families.

Trafoi lies at the foot of Mount Ortler. At an elevation of 3,905 metres, Ortler is the highest mountain in South Tyrol and lends its name to the Ortler Ski Arena. The little hamlet of Trafoi, nestled amidst pristine nature, is a favourite of winter hikers because the best views of the mountains over the national park can be enjoyed from Furkelhütte Lodge, above the local ski area. On Trafoi’s slopes, where ski legend Gustav Thöni first learned how to carve, there is a bustling serenity today: beginners and more advanced skiers alike will feel very comfortable here.
Trafoi Ski Area has 10 km of trails for passionate skiers and snowboarders.

Endless woodlands as far as the eye can see. Pale rocks reaching for the clouds. A mystical charm that can only be found in the Dolomites shrouds the village of Nova Levante in the Val d’Ega…

Nova Levante (1,182 m) stretches from 850 to 2,842 metres a.s.l. The unique nature of the Dolomites World Heritage Site between the Passo di Costalunga (1,600 m) and the Catinaccio massif can be explored on two legs or two wheels – and obviously also on skis, as soon as winter comes to the Val d’Ega and the slopes of the Catinaccio mountain turn into the fantastic Carezza family ski area. Go from the heart of the village directly to the pistes with the Nova Levante cabin lift! The descent from the Fronza alle Coronelle mountain refuge, no less than 7.6 km long, leads straight back to the town centre. And in summer there are walking trails, fixed rope routes, mountain hikes, the Carezza bike trail and the bike park awaiting those who just can’t get enough active adventure!

Casa al Torchio | Bolzano

How to reach the Casa al Torchio

The Casa al Torchio Restaurant and Pizzeria is a historic restaurant in the centre of Bolzano, which offers South Tyrolean gastronomic specialties and tasty dishes of typical South Tyrolean cuisine. The building is in fact an ancient house with a tavern, which since 1786 has been offering dishes of local gastronomy. In addition to the tasty dishes of South Tyrol, the pizzeria offers a rich selection of pizzas with quality ingredients. Come and visit us to enjoy lunches, dinners or fantastic aperitifs: follow all our events on the Casa Al Torchio Facebook page.

Traditional cuisine of South Tyrol: a combination of Italian and Tyrolean flavours
At the Ristorante Pizzeria Casa al Torchio you can enjoy a rich assortment of typical South Tyrolean cuisine. South Tyrolean cuisine is an expression of culinary art developed in the province of Bolzano. A combination of Tyrolean and Italian tradition, the typical cuisine of South Tyrol is characterised by the use of products popular among German-speaking populations, such as sauerkraut, canederli, spätzle, schlutzkrapfen and goulash. Many of these dishes are also characteristic of Trentino cuisine, by virtue of the centuries-old union of Trentino with South Tyrol under the Habsburg monarchy. Alongside the typical Tyrolean dishes, delicious dishes from traditional Italian cuisine are present in South Tyrol, such as ravioli, gnocchi, tiramisu and polenta.

Hofschank Walderhof | Naz Sciaves

How to reach the Walderhof

To the Törggelen, in addition, to each other cause, we invite you in our Hofschank opened from April to in the middle of December. Of course, in the golden autumn at the Törggelen, the classics among the Eisacktaler specialities await you. We also adapt the menu in our restaurant in Natz to the season of the year – so it always remains very varied. The decisive factor is what the field and garden offer at the moment and what is tasty. Our typical “Eisacktaler Hofschank” is child-friendly and is ideal for a stop after a hike, as a stop on your bike or motorcycle excursion, but also for a hearty family celebration with a lot of alpine local colour. In the garden next to the bar the children can let off steam to their heart’s content, while the parents let the evening fade away with a good glass of wine from the region.

Just come by and have a good time!

Törggelen at Walderhof

Törggelen is offered also at Walderhof Family Apartments. In the Walderhof tavern you can taste our delicious fresh pressed wine and apple juice, as well as our roasted chestnuts. We are happy to give you our advices for Törggelen hiking tours in Natz and Eisack Valley. For example we suggest to try the Apple Hike, that will bring you across our nice village.
