Hofschank Walderhof | Naz Sciaves

How to reach the Walderhof

To the Törggelen, in addition, to each other cause, we invite you in our Hofschank opened from April to in the middle of December. Of course, in the golden autumn at the Törggelen, the classics among the Eisacktaler specialities await you. We also adapt the menu in our restaurant in Natz to the season of the year – so it always remains very varied. The decisive factor is what the field and garden offer at the moment and what is tasty. Our typical “Eisacktaler Hofschank” is child-friendly and is ideal for a stop after a hike, as a stop on your bike or motorcycle excursion, but also for a hearty family celebration with a lot of alpine local colour. In the garden next to the bar the children can let off steam to their heart’s content, while the parents let the evening fade away with a good glass of wine from the region.

Just come by and have a good time!

Törggelen at Walderhof

Törggelen is offered also at Walderhof Family Apartments. In the Walderhof tavern you can taste our delicious fresh pressed wine and apple juice, as well as our roasted chestnuts. We are happy to give you our advices for Törggelen hiking tours in Natz and Eisack Valley. For example we suggest to try the Apple Hike, that will bring you across our nice village.

Winery Schreckbichl | Appiano

How to reach the Winery Schreckbichl

The 28 winegrowers from Schreckbichl near Girlan were rebels, who left the Garlan cellar cooperative in 1960 to found their own cooperative. They named them after their homeland, the small hamlet of Schreckbichl. But the Schreckbichler were also pioneers, because after their foundation they began to consistently turn the quality spiral. Today, the 300 members and employees of the winery continue to work consistently according to this model.
The 300 winegrowers cultivate the wine on a total area of 300 hectares. The vineyards are situated between 230 and 650 metres above sea level in one of the best growing areas in South Tyrol. A total of 12 varieties are cultivated, 35 percent of the wines are red wines and 65 percent white wines. Working in harmony with nature has long been an issue at Schreckbichl and applies not only to winegrowing, where cultivation is as gentle as possible and harvesting is carried out exclusively by hand, but also includes the cellar. Since the completion of the conversion work in spring 2012, photovoltaic panels and a heat recovery system have made the winery largely energy self-sufficient.

Winetypes:
White wines: Gewürztraminer , Chardonnay , Goldmuskateller , Müller Thurgau , Pinot Grigio , Riesling , Sauvignon , Weissburgunder
Red wines: Pinot Noir , Cabernet , Lagrein , Merlot , Vernatsch

Nals Margreid Winery | Nalles

How to reach the winery Nals Margreid

Tradition & Innovation, Weinbereitung in höchster Qualität gepaart mit Ausdrucksstärke und Ästhetik: Dafür steht die Kellerei Nals Margreid.

From a total of 395 acres of land, 138 winegrowers bring top quality grapes to the Nals Margreid Winery. Ecological awareness and a sense of quality influence their work and lead to the excellent harvests from which our remarkable wines arise. Together we create wines that express their territorial and varietal origin. Together we not only nurture, but continuously refine our traditions.

History:
Developed over millennia, viticulture is deep-rooted in Italy’s northernmost winegrowing area, South Tyrol. As an important part of the South Tyrolean wine culture, our winery is keeping up tradition since 1932. Our winegrowers’ vineyards extend from Nals, a little town between Bozen and Meran (Merano), all the way to Margreid in the sunny, southern reaches of our region, allowing us to exploit a remarkable variety of terroirs and locations.

Wine architecture:
Like the excellent wines produced by it, our winery, modernized in 2011, is an expression of the terroir. Thanks to the joining of historical structures and the high standards of modern wine production, a complex of buildings evolved, that perfectly expresses our qualities. Involving gravity in the production process, the wines are brought into existence as gently as possible. Hence, the evolution from grape to wine finds its natural process and culmination in our timeless cellars.

Vinotheque:
Our vinotheque is integrated into the unique architectural structure of our winery, and is always open for tasting and buying our top-rated & award-winning wines. Historical outlines such as cobblestones from 1764 and wooden joisting & pillars flow seamlessly into the exquisite modern décor of our vinotheque. This sophisticated and pleasurable ambience is perfectly suited for tasting and buying wines of our wide assortment. Experience this union of innovation, age-long tradition and wine culture!

Farm distillery St. Urban | Cornaiano

How to reach the distillery St. Urban

Do you know the difference between fruit brandy, spirit, grappa and liqueur? Have you ever tasted South Tyrolean gin?
The Hofbrennerei St. Urban stands for the art of distillation at the highest level. The distilling is done by Erwin himself.
For the distillates he uses only fully ripe and undamaged fruit from our own cultivation. This is the only way to produce noble brandies of exceptional quality. Through months of storage, the noble brandies receive the optimal fullness of aroma and harmony. St. Urban products can consciously be described as the “heart of nature” because they are produced without any flavourings or added sugar.

Our products:

  • Fruit brandies: Under special climatic conditions, the fruit for the FRUIT brandies thrives on our small farm in Villandro in the Val d’Isarco at 850 m above sea level. Here you can find the temperature differences which are so important for the fruit, warm days – cool nights.
  • Grappas: We produce the aromatic and very mild GRAPPAS from high-quality grape marc, from wines from the best vineyards of Cornaiano.
  • Berry brandies: Something special awaits you with our berry brandies: An abundance of aromas and scents, as well as a beguiling taste in the finish will overwhelm you – a perfect fruit experience for every connoisseur.
  • Spirit: A delicate but very fine aroma with a pleasant and clear aftertaste in the finish awaits you with our spirits.
  • Liqueurs: The wild sloes and sour cherries for our Liqueurs are carefully read by hand. Only after weeks of marceration do they reach their full maturity.
  • Beer brandy: This noble Beer brandy is distilled from the “Batzen Dunkel” of the brewery Batzen Bräu. It reaches its full maturity when stored in a special wooden barrel.  This process leads to its incomparable aroma.
  • Gin: The unique recipe for our St. Urban Südtirol Gin was created with a lot of passion. Wonderful Mediterranean citrus aromas and a pronounced freshness await you in the nose.
  • Pralines: Delicious praline compositions from fruit distillates and grappa lovingly handmade embedded in the high-quality chocolate of the Confiserie Öberhöller from the Val Sarentino.
